‘The Wife’ is about a married couple, Varun (Gurmeet Choudhary) and Arya (Sayani Datta), who soon after moving into their new apartment, start experiencing some eerie activities. Arya notices these unnatural things first and informs Varun. He, even though has not noticed any happenings consciously, does get nightmares of a scary presence in the house. However, when their relationship crumbles, they realise that they must stick together to not only save their marriage but also their lives. Then we are introduced to Raima Das (Shweta Dadhicch), who is a professor and has expertise in paranormal study. She confirms a spirit's presence but only time will tell why she is troubling the couple.

Helmed by debutant writer-director Sarmad Khan, this horror flick doesn’t give jump scares, rather it’s a blend of both romance between the newlywed couple as well as the spooky things they experience in the house. This constant unnerving feel keeps the viewers hooked throughout, however, the screenplay is slow and takes too long to come to the point or even show a glimpse of the spirit. It’s the last 30 minutes of the film and the climax that manages to send shivers down one's spine. Manish More’s editing is taut which makes an easy transition from one scene to another but its predictable storyline is disappointing.

Coming to the performances, Gurmeet looks promising as Varun and debutante Sayani Datta is convincing, too. The chemistry between the pair is so natural that they look comfortable in every frame. From expressions to their dialogue delivery, especially when they encounter supernatural activities, perfectly conveys the emotions of their characters. Additionally, Gurmeet’s act elevates the impact of the climax.All said, ‘The Wife’ remains true to its genre but the pace of the film seems exhausting because it takes too much time for the big reveal. Though for a horror and suspense film, it manages to give you only a few spooks.

Wrong Turn (originally known as Wrong Turn: The Foundation) is a 2021 horror film directed by Mike P. Nelson and written by Alan McElroy. The film is a reboot of the Wrong Turn film series, and stars Charlotte Vega, Adain Bradley, Emma Dumont, Dylan McTee, Daisy Head, Bill Sage, and Matthew Modine. It is an international co-production between the United States, Germany, and Canada.

The project was announced in October 2018, with Nelson signed as director, from a screenplay written by McElroy, who wrote the original film. Principal photography began on September 9, 2019, and wrapped on November 2, 2019, in Felicity, Ohio.

Wrong Turn was theatrically released for one day, January 26, 2021, by Saban Films.

The film received mixed reviews from critics and grossed $4.5 million at the box office.

Laxmii is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language horror comedy film written and directed by Raghava Lawrence, marking his directorial debut in the Hindi film industry. A remake of his own Tamil film Kanchana (2011), it stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, while Ayesha Raza Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar and Sharad Kelkar play pivotal roles. The film revolves around a man who gets possessed by the ghost of a trans person. Kumar, also produced the film under his Cape of Good Films and Fox Star Studios, along with Tusshar Kapoor's newly launched production company, Tusshar Entertainment House and Shabinaa Entertainment. Lawrence co-wrote the script along with Farhad Samji, Sparsh Khetarpal, Tasha Bhambra, with Samji adapting the screenplay and dialogues to the Hindi version. The film was announced in January 2019, whilst the principal photography began in April 2019 and ended in March 2020.

Laxmii was originally scheduled for a theatrical release on 22 May 2020, but the release was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was later streamed digitally through Disney+ Hotstar on 9 November 2021, across India, thus becoming the first big-budget Bollywood film to release on a streaming platform, and was not released theatrically in India, while being released in theatres in the United Arab Emirates, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand. It received negative reviews from critics and audience, with the writing, screenplay, narration, performances, although Akshay Kumar's and Sharad Kelkar's performances were praised.
